To be honest, we expected to have the population of a hamlet in the first two weeks, becoming a small village by week 4 and a larger village by week 8. We expected to have time to iron out all the bugs and scripting issues and we had also planned to bring in the new servers in a calm and controlled manner. Oh yes, we were going to hire an internal web development team to take care of problems 24/7.
So a nice, gentle 8 week, settling in programme. LOL!
Thanks to some amazing support from you guys we were forced to compress those 8 weeks into 4 days!
The automatic population refresh script is the reason the server "crashed" 2 days ago. Since then the hosting company has moved us to a "Probation Sever" (the equivalent of the computer "naughty step"). Even if we fix the script, we're on the "naughty step" until Thursday: hence why we are moving early to the new hosting company.
Once the VPN (Virtual Private Network) is established on Monday, we move to new, dedicated servers with ample bandwidth and 24-hour upgrade options. Then we can fix the scripts. The orphan members you have introduced will be quickly re-linked to you. The password issue that some 2,733 members have will also be fixed, when we unlock their accounts.

me2everyone Limited was incorporated in England in September 2008. Run by an experienced team and advised by our Global Executive board, we aim to create one of the most visited websites on the planet by 2012. When the main website launches we wll add language support in Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, French, German, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian and Italian. We will also add furthe languages upon request.
Any shares on this page will be paid for by us (or our partners) and so you can relax, knowing you never have to pay a single penny for your membership. In 2009 we will open an in-world "trading room" where you can offer your shares for sale to other members. Today they may be worth just their face value £0.001 each.... Tomorrow that value could soar! All we need are members who become involved: we will take care of the rest. We have innovative marketing solutions that will protect your privacy but also allow you to control how advertisers and business members interact with you. Now, it may be polluted and breathing out may contribute to global warming, but the air we breathe is 100% free. And so are your shares in me2everyone.... something that the sceptics just can't get their head around.
WHY?
More than 32,000 people have become members. They paid nothing and yet, they became shareholders. Fast-forward to December 2009 when we have a wonderful website and more than 5,000,000 happy members. Membership was free and they all became shareholders. They became excited and told even more people about this new concept in Web 2.0. With so many people in one place, business advertisers arrive and contribute up to GBP £149m (USD $224m) in fees during 2010.

By December 2009, this company will be worth in the region of GBP £400m (USD $600m), making your shares worth an estimated £0.021 each... Oh yes, please remember that we own shares too. In fact we all have a vested interest in this becoming successful.

Yes me2everyone is free. There's no "sting in the tail" and zero catch. Our members become shareholders. They become excited. They recommend. We grow. We attract more money from Business members. We make money for everyone. Including ourselves. We are different. This is for the good of all.
We gave the green light to move to the new servers during Thursday 22nd January 2009! This starts at 05:00 hours GMT.
There may be some delay (24 to 72 hours) for all computers on the internet to find the new server, but it will be worth the wait! Our new home will be super quick. New features will be added to the wesbite quickly. We have found out what was causing the "Forgotten Password" glitch and it's going to get fixed. And, we are going to kick-start the rush towards 100,000 members with an incredible offer. We will tell you more very soon.
Thanks for putting up with these problems for the past week. We know it has been frustrating. But the wait will be worth it and at least now we can get on with building the website you are all looking for.

There's some talk in the forums about me2everyone solely existing to steal personal data. We want to address this matter now by explaining something.
In England me2everyone Limited has to be legally registered with something called Companies House (Companies House). You can use the Webcheck service (on their website) to find out more about me2everyone Limited and the directors. We operate with transparency and treat private data as private.
When we launch the main website we will ask you for more information. By law we will need:
The name for your shares
Your address to register the shares to

However to cut down on instances of fraud or hijack of your account, we will use a security system called "Two Factor Authentication" which requires you entering a phone number. A few moments later your phone rings or an SMS arrives with a special code. This is entered into the form and you are registered. Some payment processors, a few banks and gaming sites use a similar system.
The main website is a social networking tool - so there will be additional questions, but everything will be optional. When you join anything on the web, you have to give up some personal info.
So are we simply planning to take your data and sell it to spammers?
No.
Firstly I'm guessing spammers already have your email address - they certainly have mine. Secondly, I have no idea how much spammers pay for data, but, I guarantee that our business plan is far more lucrative for all concerned: you, me and everyone...
There will always be those people who air on the side of caution. There will be those who are suspicious of motives. There will be people who question intent and professionalism. And just as there are people who say "Yes! Count me in" there are also people who will never become a member.

Now it's not all coming at once, but these changes will prepare for an easy transition to the me2everyone virtual world. Oh, can we dispel a myth here? me2everyone will begin life as a 2D place, evolving into a hybrid between 2D and 3D. It's being designed to work without downloads, and for speed (although broadband will be recommended). We are working with architectural designers for the inworld graphics and a regular web team for other programming. We are hiring all the time! This week alone we decided to get the "new" site translated into 24 languages: although we have had 260 members putting their names forward to translate the site into 38 languages. Croatia seems popular with 70 applications! :)
One key area where we are hiring is IT with 8 key posts soon to be filled. We are also starting the process of converting me2everyone Limited into a Public Limited Company (PLC). On this subject, when it's time to register your shares, you will be able to download them from your account. Every share certificate will have a unique bar-code to ensure more security and a lot less fraud.
We know we have failings and we are fixing them. But please remember, the website is 21 days old with more than 54,000 members in more countries than we can image. You have all stunned us. Now it's our turn! :)
