How to create a blog and promote it.

Hello all the members,

I've been a blogger for couple of weeks now and I'm already making money off from them. I manage to earn like 3 - 5$ a day by a blog. I know that I don't have enough experience but I'm just sharing few tips so that members in this forum, who doesn't know about making money by using blogs can make more money.

Use a short, and simple domain with good extension when starting a blog.
Always use a simple and short domain name when you're starting off a new blog. Not only decent name but also the extension. I always prefer a domain with .com extension because most of the visitors will visit .com domains only. For example, if your domain is yoursite.info, the traffic will go to yoursite.com. Just spend few more bucks in getting a .com domain - It won't hurt much.


Registering a domain.
There are many domain registrars on the internet - most of the popular among them are Namecheap.com GoDaddy.com Name.com Register.com and few more. I always register a domain using Godaddy.com. I've got over 12 domains with them, and haven't got any kind of troubles using Go daddy. I've also heard that Name cheap provides excellent service. You can go with anyone that you wish.

Choosing a hosting for your site.
You can go with any hosting that you wish, but don't go with the one who offer hosting for very cheap - the hosting will not last long. I'd recommend you to host with Hostgator.com - they've good plans with affordable prices. You could just go with the hosting that you wish.

Choosing the right blog software.
I've always used WordPress on all of my blogs, and many bloggers prefer it. There are also some other softwares but word press is better I guess. Just go with Word Press, Install it on your hosting(You could do a Google search to find a tutorial on how to install it).

Promotion and advertising.
I'm learning promotion and advertising at the moment, and I think I won't be able to guide much. Do some RSS feed submissions do RSS directories(Just go a Google search to find it ), Place your signature links in forums, SEO (Search Engine Optimize ) it, gain Backlinks, Keep on writing good QUALITY articles - Always focus on QUALITY, not quantity. It's better to write a QUALITY article a day rather than writing 10 bad quality articles in a day. That's what I've learned - You could spend some time in reading some articles about advertising and promotion for more information.

That's it I guess - I'm still a new blogger and learning how to monetize blogs and promote them. I'll open a new thread later when I collect more information about them.

thanks for sharing. could u further explain how to link ur blog to ur domain...how to install, is that from ur domain or from wordpress. i bit confuse. and how u make money thru ur blog? by adsense? thanks

You just have to install WordPress (Or any other software) on your domain. You can use many methods in earning revenue, such as Google Adsense, WidGet bucks and many more but I prefer Google Adsense.

Sorry, I don't share my blog links with anyone. I'm still new, You can go thru some articles, and learn how to build backlinks, how to advertise and all.

Great tips! Your on the right track

An other back link and traffic tactic is writing quality press releases. Having them submitted is somewhat tricky for mlm, they don't really like it much so in that case I would have a blog that isn't about mlm so much but links to you mlm blog. When I say mlm I mean when your promoting products for sites like clickbank. And of course have adsense on all blogs.
