Hi Notinal.
Forex isn't something you can half heartedly just jump into. It requires a lot of study, commitment and hard work to become a trader.
I guess the first place you should go, and this advice is given widely on forums, is
http://www.babypips.com
That site will teach you the basics of what forex trading is and after that you will have a idea if being a trader is for you or not. After that, there are numerous other places you can learn more.
You should trade on a demo account for around 12 months unless you have money to lose in which case you can consider as "training fees", the many account wipe outs you WILL encounter as you learn.
Forex is nicer than HYIPs in the way that you are the one in charge of winning and losing money, and the big fact that Forex is completely legal, and legitimate whereas HYIPs are just games or total scams, and are illegal in most countries.
By all means investigate Forex as a career choice, please be aware of the many sharks out there waiting to scam you out of your money by promising you the world on a stick and trying to convince you that Forex is a low risk endeavour with few losses when the opposite is the case.
Good luck! :)
