Yeah I think it's a nice motivation to join fxOpen. Maybe it's not a broker for news traders, but Im really satisfied with offered services.

Well a news trader is a kind of trader who use the impact of economic news report to make his profits. Common technique is straddling, when you place pending orders above and below the market price a while before the news report is released. Then no matter which side the market goes, you get one of your orders executed. But it all depends on how quickly the broker executes the huge amount of orders at the news release time. If the broker can't execute all the orders fast enough, then you will get slippage on the execution, mostly in your disadvantage.

Straddling is a good way to lose. Most of the big players in the markets can see a whole bunch of straddles that open up either side of the market just before news, so what do they do? They target your stops that's what! Often they go for both sides too which is why there is usually a whipsaw move at news times.

Right, that's why I wrote 'common technique' rather than 'good technique' :) Im betting on breakouts and trend following rather than on vagrant nature of news.

thank's for the info all

Straddling look like a bad trading strategies, that's can be more risky than hedging methods.

So, Fxopen allow traders to do that ?? i think straddling like gambling

And look at the nice Easter egg in form of better than expected Existing Home Sales, which pushed the US$ again a little bit up. Watching the CNBC I see a lot of optimism around the world (well maybe just too much at the moment)
