does it really matter what browser I use?

Firefox is safer than IE out of the box if only for the reason that it doesn't support activex by default.

Firefox is safer than IE but if you'll use a good antivirus and antispyware you can use IE without fear.

My friend said that about 80% virus are created on IE

for me, firefox is safer and a bit faster. but of course it also depends on ur antivirus and antispyware. u should always update and scan ur pc using antivirus and antispyware to make it safer
