I've tried this and haven't had much success. I've filled out lots of surveys, only to find out AFTER completing the survey that I don't 'qualify'. This has translated into a lot of wasted time.
The offers can also be very complicated, and it's not always clear how far into a survey you need to go to qualify for payment. Sometimes you have to complete an offer, and need to be very careful about what you may be signing up for.
I think people who are making good money through this are doing it through referrals, not through completing surveys themselves.
I've spent hours on this program and have qualified for a total of $11.45. To be fair, I haven't worked on recruiting.

Making it work
It is possible to make money doing this, but it does take a strategy in order to do it. You need to use a second email address, because frankly, you will get a ton of email from the offers you fill out. I also recommend using either Roboform, or the Google toolbar; they enable one click filling out of forms. This saves the repetitive task of filling out surveys.
Now, surveys may not be for you, but for a lot of people getting a regular job is not really an option. They may have kids, or some other reason that they must be at home. I have calculated that with Roboform and CashCrate and only doing the 100% free offers (no subscription necessary, no cost offers, etc) I am able to make an average of $12. Not too bad.
To make sure you are credited for every offer is to make sure you do exactly what their instructions say. For example, they have a loan offer that pays out $45, but the directions say that you have to complete the form, AND get approved and fully funded. That's asking alot. What I do is stick to the .80-$2.00 100% free offers. That works for me.
Frankly, I also concentrate on getting referrals. I asked two of the top earners on Cashcrate (people making over $2,000/month on a regular basis) what they did to get there, and they both told me they concentrate on getting referrals. One person said they only actively promoted for one month, and then stopped, and the checks just kept getting larger as her referrals started getting their own referrals.
Anyway, I have more tips and tricks for using CashCrate and XSVCash on my website ZenAffiliate.com.Wangzen

You are absolutely right about refferals, manasi.
It is a backbone!
Also agree about spam, after completing some offers. For some offers in order to complete them you must agree to receive ads from additional advertisers, so it is clever to have separate mailbox for that. In other way your hairs will get gray when you try to find what you are looking for in your maiulbox. LOL

They really do pay out and they don't reject as many completed offeres as some of the other sites do.

Cashcrate-www.cashcrate.com-(my best GPT Program)
there is a great program called Cashcrate, which, in my opinion, is one of the greatest sites ever. It pays you to get referrals, 20% for 1st level and 10% for 2nd level. It also pays you to take surveys and complete offers. You just need to be 13 or older to sign up. Plus, its FREE! Sign up under Get Paid to Complete Offers at CashCrate.com! in order to get this experience.
