Default Stocks Vs Mutual Funds

The stock market is a lucrative place for many people. A successful investor cannot ignore bonds or mutual funds anymore than a successful athlete could overlook exercise! What do you prefer and what do you thing between Stocks Vs Mutual Funds.

Interesting topic you have here.

Personally, I try to leverage between both of them. For example, bonds cannot be accessed by laymen and common citizens. Therefore, I would invest in bond funds or mutual funds that invest in bonds as a secondary means to generate income.

On the other hand, I'd invest in well-known stocks that offer attractive dividend yield. A part of my monthly income would go to buying stocks that are well-known. I'd make a monthly commitment to keep buying the stocks no matter the market condition. After maybe 10 years, my investment would turn into a hefty and profitable amount.

Mutual funds have their own competitive edge. They offer diversification and lowers your risk. However, the commission fees they impose is a big no-no. Of course, if you don't know a thing about stocks, it's better if you go for these funds. Index fund would be the best.

I think you've gotta find a balance between the two when investing.

I think funds is better than the stock market. It lowers your risk and it's simple. I really prefer funds. :)

Guys each and every person has its own opinion. Some want to invest money in stocks and some want to invest in Mutual funds. But both have some or the other risk factor involved in it.

I have one more option of investing money and that too without any risk factor. As all of us have our IRA and 401K funds which are kept unused for years.

Investing money in real estate is much more beneficial and risk free than investing in stocks.

Following are the benefits of investing money in real estate:

-> Value of property appreciates over time with little or no risk of falling prices.
-> Real Estate is a solid asset whereas the value of stocks and other financial instruments
is determined by many factors outside of your control.
-> Investments in Real Estate can appreciate annually at a much higher rate than what
your clients can get by investing in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds

One can easily invest their IRA in profitable real estate without ever going to the bank(depending on the need and the total amount accumulated though) thereby avoiding the costly loans.

I think investing in real estate in the current market would be a bad move, unless you find a real bargain. In my opinion the real estate in US and most developed countries in the world has further to fall, before it gets better.
