Default No sound on my laptop

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop running Windows Vista. It was infected with a virus, so I scanned it by a leading anti-virus. After fixed the virus I update all the drivers. Now my laptop is virus free and everything is working pretty fine except sound. There is no sound coming out from laptop. I also checked out audio settings and found everything fine there. Does anyone know what else I need to check?

    Thanks in advance.

I suggest you to reinstall your operating system and install Windows 7, after this manipulation you will have no problems

if you have spare money, don't hesitate to hire someone who is knowledgeable enough to repair your laptop.

some time disable by BIOS setup. You will check BIOS and share status.

Seeing as it worked before the driver update, do a rollback on the drivers and see what happens. Sometimes when new drivers come out, they can actually preform worse and crash the machine.
