Panda: The preceding algorithm was Google Panda
whose aim was to target low quality sites which provided
a poor user experience. This algorithm rated sites based
on human logic which followed a series of checklists that
each site was measured against, again looking for
original content, checking for spam and other black-hat
SEO methods.Panda is designed to reduce rankings for
low-quality sites-sites which are low-value add for users,
copy content from other websites or sites that are just
not very useful. At the same time, it will provide better
rankings for high-quality sites.
Penguin:The most recent algorithm, Google , was first
rolled out in April 2012 with the purpose of penalising
websites which used black-hat methods in order to gain a
good page ranking. In particular, Google Penguin was
targeting keyword stuffing, link schemes and duplicate
content.Penguin is increasingly targeting inbound links,
demoting sites/pages that appear to have unnatural
inbound links.

Google launched the Penguin update in April 2012. This focused more on tackling spam and penalizing sites that didn’t follow Google’s quality guidelines. Google Penguin also looks to tackling Black hat SEO techniques that many sites use to increase their search engine ranking. This includes techniques like;
Keyword/keyphrases stuffing within content.
Comment spamming by including links using the same anchor text.
Links from article directories and directory listings.
Having excessive/unnatural internal links.
Google dropped the bomb that was the Panda update in February of 2011. As you probably know, Google Panda had some complex components to it, but its primary objectives were simple – penalize sites with lower quality content and in the process, return sites with high quality content to the top of the results where they belong. While some would say the accuracy of the update was equivalent to a one-legged blind man in a butt-kicking contest, Panda made it be known that SEO marketers would have to start appeasing Google’s search algorithm beyond good keyword and linking strategies.

Google Panda is an algorithm update created by Google that is released in February 23, 2011. This update upgrades the sites that people like and downgrades the sites that people dislike. The evaluation is based on design and user's experience, the overall quality of content and the usage metrics. Google Panda favors those sites that have good design, those that have easy navigation, the contents are useful and is shared by many people and most importantly, those sites that receives longer visits from various users. It downgrades those sites that have contents that are poorly written and duplicated.
Google Penguin is also an algorithm update released by Google in April 24, 2012. Its main goal is to protect the search engine from black-hat techniques in SEO. The Penguin penalizes those websites that use keyword stuffing, cloaking, link farming and duplicating contents to rank higher in search engine.
My biggest concern when I hear people asking exactly what Panda did or exactly what Penguin did is that they still haven't understood what this game is about. We know what the endgame is, but we don't know what all the rules are. Some of them, we've been able to figure out, but others are still a mystery. And it gets worse, because the rules change as we go along, and as often as not we won't be told even that they're changing, let alone how they're changing.
So rather than focusing on how you can game the system now after the Panda and Penguin updates, look at how you can win the endgame – that means doing what Google wants you to do. Anything else – any attempts to subvert the system or use loopholes to your advantage – puts you at risk of being hit hard by the Pelican Update, Platypus Update, Pufferfish Update or whatever comes next. Because one thing is for sure, the rules of the game will continue to change, and anyone exploiting fl*** in the current algorithm is on the hit list for when it next changes.Looking for the latest information on mortgage rates?
