Keyword density is percentage your keyword is present in the article body. Recommended value is 2-3%, that is out or every 100 words in the article 2 or 3 of them show be your keyword. More than that ca be considered spam and will cause damage to your rankings.

In other words, stop worrying about keyword density. Start writing for the people and not for the search engines and all will be ok. Or at least Google says so. :)
